Closing the Financial Wealth Gap by Providing Financial Education and Coaching

Mission

Empower Your Cents is a nonprofit dedicated to closing the financial wealth gap in minority communities by providing financial education and coaching. We will strengthen, encourage, and empower individuals from childhood to adulthood to break generational curses and build generational wealth.

Vision

To create financial education programs that are interactive, impactful, and inspiring that can be customized to fit individuals, schools, for-profits and non-profit organizations.

What We Do

Our programs cover a variety of financial literacy topics in an interactive curriculum that helps build financial knowledge. Participants will be introduced to financial topics, provided an in-depth review and given a chance to apply the knowledge learned. We offer programs to all entities based on what they determine are their needs: community centers, apartment complexes, small groups, individuals, schools, for profits and non-profits.

How We Do It

We meet our students where they are, we don’t assume you know everything, and we celebrate you when you can bring your knowledge to the table. When engaging with a leader to offer this Financial Education to their participants we have a series of steps to determine the best program for your participants. With over 80 topics to choose from the program becomes completely customizable for your group:

One

We determine what you would like to accomplish

Two

We get buy in from your participants on what they would like to learn more about

Three

We determine the topics, length of program and one to one coaching options

Four

Last we set an implementation date, EYC will bring in educators/coaches to teach or we can train staff if needed

We start off with a minimum of 3 sessions for longer programs. For more targeted classes we recommend adding at least 1 one to one coaching sessions to ensure the participant has adequate support.

About Us

Lori Jackson is a financial educator and coach who helps empower individuals through financial literacy to reach their fullest potential.

Before starting a business dedicated to financial competence, Lori worked as a Financial Advisor as well as a Supply Chain Analyst. Lori developed a unique skill set while building client wealth: creating retirement plans, providing financial advice, negotiating contracts, and managing inventories. These skills allow Lori to think outside the box, combining her love of helping others with her analytical mindset. Lori now teaches others the importance of money as it relates to all areas of their lives. She also provides individual coaching to help her clients reach specific monetary goals. Lori uses her passion, knowledge, and skills to guide her students and clients to financial success. Lori received her Bachelor’s and MBA from the University of New Orleans. She is also a Certified Financial Education Instructor with the National Financial Education Counsel and a 2022 Top Female Achiever in the New Orleans Magazine.

From an early age, I saw people struggling with financial issues, and I immediately took the stance that I didn’t want that to be me. What I didn’t realize is how hard or impossible that stance might seem to some people. I have been blessed with a talent that helps people connect with their money in a way that doesn’t scare them, and they can take back the control. Nothing is impossible unless you stop trying, we are here to turn that “I wish” into “I know”.
